{"id":4194,"date":"2019-01-22T11:54:36","date_gmt":"2019-01-22T17:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/?p=4194"},"modified":"2019-01-22T11:54:36","modified_gmt":"2019-01-22T17:54:36","slug":"aaaea-il-general-assembly-board-elections-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/aaaea-il-general-assembly-board-elections-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"AAAEA-IL General Assembly &#038; Board Elections recap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The members of AAAEA IL held their general assembly meeting and board elections on December 8, 2018 at Reza Banquets in Oak Brook, Illinois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting was attended by approximately 50 full members and a dozen of student members and supporters. The meeting began with AAAEA-IL President Amro Kudssi presenting the association&#8217;s annual report and accomplishments in 2018. Many topics were discussed and reviewed including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; The introduction of\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1_zGVO0-z8VtIoQbp01u1MErngtxMfWrWxiatm5TZ3h4\" target=\"_blank\">Engineering Champion Program<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Collecting members&#8217; career success stories<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> &#8211; Addressing membership issues and unifying database sources of members their specialties specialties, distributions, interests etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group also discussed promotion of the association, perfecting the execution of seminars and events and increasing sponsorship over the last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the annual report, the election committee, led by Mr. Nabil Aldrees, reviewed the election process and announced the newly elected board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>President: Amro Kudssi<\/li><li>Vice President:&nbsp; Hussam Alkhatib<\/li><li>Secretary: Amrou Attasi<\/li><li>Treasurer:&nbsp; Ragheed Alfarra<\/li><li>IT &amp; Communication Officer:&nbsp; Ahmad Issa<\/li><li>Membership committee chair: Khalil Kher<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The general assembly meeting ended with an open buffet lunch for all and attendees wishing the new board best of success in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the second week of 2019, the new board had a quick vote per AAAEA IL bylaws and unanimously appointed the following members to the board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Activity Committee:&nbsp; Mustafa Alobaidi<\/li><li>Education Committee:&nbsp;Dr. Mustaph Ibrahim<\/li><li>Career Enhancement Chair: Ahmad Kanani<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The members of AAAEA IL held their general assembly meeting and board elections on December 8, 2018 at Reza Banquets [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":4196,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"nf_dc_page":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[79,80,30,32,33,45],"class_list":["post-4194","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-article","tag-recap","tag-results","tag-30","tag-aaaea","tag-aaaea-il","tag-board-election"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4194","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4194"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4194\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4194"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4194"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/aaaea.org\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4194"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
