AAAEA-IL Social Event a great success!

Dear AAAEA Community,

Thank you for making the AAAEA-IL Social Event on March 24 a great success!

Held at Chateau Del Mar in Hickory Hills, the event offered an opportunity for AAAEA-IL members to socialize, network, as well as play games, trivia, and win prizes during a raffle. Attendees enjoyed a wonderful Middle Eastern dinner, traditional dabke dancing, and a DJ. Our two emcees, Jameeleh Shelo and Ahmed AbdelAzizi, carried the evening with grace and brilliance.

As part of the program, we announced the launch of our Engineering Champion initiative which connects established engineers in the U.S. with newly arrived engineers from the Middle East with the goal of advising the newcomers on the U.S. engineering field so that they can successfully enter the job market. We encourage you to sign up to be an Engineering Champion by helping our newly arrived immigrants.

The Social Event also included a segment in which tens of prizes and gifts were awarded, with the biggest raffle prize of a 55” 4K TV going to AAAEA National President, Mr. Jamal Grainawi!

We thank the following sponsors for their continued support of AAAEA-IL: HBM Engineering Group, WSP, AES Services, Inc., Michael Baker International, Collins Engineers Inc., Concordia Group Ltd., Chicago Testing Laboratory, Inc., Delta Engineering Group LLC, DLZ Architecture Engineering and Planning, Dusable Design Engineering and Construction Management, Ecology and Environment Inc., GSG Consultants Inc., HDR, HNTB, Jacobs, Lakeshore Engineering LLC, Millenia Professional Services, Stantec, Terra Engineering Ltd., Terracon Consulting Engineers and Scientists, and V3.

Some are newly graduated, but most have many years of overseas experience.

Engineering Champion mentors can help & guide mentees to enter the United States job market by educating them on the engineering job market in the United States and advising them on any necessary training, certificates, exams, and/or acquiring licenses.

With a network of over 1,000 engineers and hundreds of engineering firms, including the willingness of its members to help others, AAAEA is set to fill a critical void through the AAAEA Engineering Champion Program. Join us in this effort as a mentor by filling this for
