The Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects - California (AAAEA-CA) is a not-for-profit, non-political, non-religious professional organization.  It is open to all architects, engineers, and information technology professionals and students of Arab heritage residing in the US.  AAAEA-CA is dedicated to helping its members succeed and advance in their profession by networking through technical, educational, and social activities and events.

AAAEA-CA has been awarding scholarships to college students since its inception in 2010.  Since then, we have offered 52 scholarships totaling over $47,000.  The scholarships are awarded to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in the fields of engineering, architecture, or information technology who are members of our association.  High school graduating seniors who have been admitted to a University in any of the fields above are also welcome to apply.  Our main objectives are to foster a community for our members within our association, create ties between our association and the industry, encourage movement within the Arab American community, and to promote the professions of engineering, architecture, and information technology.

Depending on the availability of funds, scholarships in the amount of $500 to $1,000 will be awarded twice a year.  This year, scholarships will be awarded on May 14th at the AAAEA-CA Semi-Annual Networking Dinner and in November at the AAAEA-CA Annual Dinner Gala.  The recipients of our scholarships are required to be present at the appropriate event to accept their award.  The number of scholarships awarded and the amount of each scholarship will be based on available funds and the number of applicants.

The deadlines are as follows:

  • 5PM April 30, 2016 for the Semi-Annual Networking Dinner on May 14th
  • 5PM on October 8, 2016 for the Annual Dinner Gala in November

Best of luck to all of our applicants!
